NextGen Intern (Kids, Youth, & College)

General Vision

The Next Gen Intern supports the Kids, Youth, and Salt Company teams throughout the summer by helping create welcoming, fun, gospel-centered environments for children, students, and college-aged young adults. 

This internship provides hands-on ministry experience across the full Next Gen spectrum—birth through college—while giving interns the chance to grow as disciples, develop leadership skills, and participate in the staff culture of Veritas Church.

Essential Job Functions 

Intern responsibilities vary by department but typically include:

• Helping plan and support ministry events and weekly environments.
• Building relationships with volunteers, leaders, and ministry participants.
• Supporting basic administrative tasks, communication, and planning.
• Assisting the staff team with practical ministry needs throughout the week.
• Participating in staff meetings, discipleship, and ministry training.

Required Skills and Abilities

• A growing relationship with Jesus and desire to serve the local church.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and be flexible.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Good communication skills and a teachable attitude.

Schedule & Expectations

• Seasonal role during the summer (typically May–August).
• Roughly 40 hours per week, depending on ministry needs.
• Participation in weekly staff meeting and intern development gatherings.
• Must be or become an attender at Veritas Church during the internship.
• Must live in the Cedar Rapids area during your internship.
