Programs include access to low vision clinics, peer empowerment support groups, one-to-one volunteer assistance, in-home vision rehabilitation, adjustment counseling/mental health support, and access technology training. MAB Adult Disability Services provides residential support services, individual support, transitional assistance, and social, vocational, and recreational day programming for individuals with developmental disabilities or brain injuries in Greater Boston and Central Massachusetts. The division operates more than 25 group homes and serves over 300 people each year. The Ivy Street School is a special education residential and day high school for neurodivergent youth. We work with students to prepare them for adulthood with the tools they need to achieve their greatest independence. Ivy Street School is a small, year-round, private residential special education school committed to advancing equity and access for young people living with disabilities. We serve neurodiverse adolescents ages 13-22. We support the whole child through a student-first model that is driven by collaboration, a willingness to think big, and a commitment to knowing our students well.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a forward thinking and collaborative individual to complete a Level II Fieldwork Placement and internship with our occupational therapy department for Winter 2026. This is a full-time role for 40 hours a week for 12 weeks as per ACOTE standards set out by universities. This role is unpaid.  

Job Responsibilities 

Under the direct supervision of an occupational therapist and with increasing independence: 

  • Observe occupational therapists completing individual and group sessions 

  • Participate in weekly supervision with direct supervisor  

  • Participate in weekly department meetings  

  • Participate in internal meetings to collaborate on students’ care 

  • Collaborate with, interview, and observe other providers within the related services department at Ivy Street including speech language pathologists and physical therapists. 

  • Perform screenings and evaluations to assess students strengths and needs 

  • Participate in IEP meetings and complete IEP progress notes 

  • Support a caseload of 5-8 students based on measurable annual goals in IEPs 

  • Lead classroom-based activities and groups weekly 

  • Support students living in residences in afterschool programming  

  • Support community navigation blocks as needed with assigned classrooms 

 

Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Enrolled in a Master’s or Doctorate program in Occupational Therapy and completed necessary coursework to begin LIIFW experience  

Experience

  • Experience working with transition-aged youth preferred 
  • Experience working with diverse mental health needs preferred 
  • Experience working in a school and/or residential setting preferred
