Over the course of our 13-week internship, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Interact with company leaders and build a lasting professional network.

  • Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader in the medical technology industry.

Let’s Talk About Responsibilities

As a UX Design Intern, you’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to create intuitive, impactful digital experiences for healthcare providers (e.g., physicians, sleep labs, and healthcare systems).
You’ll contribute to projects that improve user flows, design new interface features, and help advance the usability and accessibility of ResMed’s provider-facing software.

You will be expected to:

  • Design user-centered experiences using industry-standard UX methods and frameworks.

  • Work in Figma to design and prototype low- to high-fidelity interfaces.

  • Create components, variants, and variables in Figma for use within shared design systems.

  • Apply auto layout, styles, tokens, and interactive components to ensure scalability and consistency.

  • Contribute to the evolution of our design system in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Translate user research insights into design concepts and flows.

  • Present work clearly, explaining design rationale and usability considerations.

This is a hybrid role based in Sydney at the Bella Vista office, with expected participation in on-site team meetings and remote workshops ~2-3 days per week.

  • Foundational knowledge of user-centered design, interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, typography, colour theory, branding, gestalt principles, and motion design.

  • Experience designing clickable prototypes and digital interfaces in Figma, demonstrating understanding of component structure, variants, styles, variables, and design systems.

  • Ability to develop storyboards, sketches, user flows, journey maps, wireframes and prototypes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document design decisions, user insights, and rationale for stakeholders.

  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams including designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers.
