About the Role

About our group:

We are part of the Recording Head Operation (RHO), embedded within the Global Quality Organization. Our team is responsible for end-to-end (E2E) product quality monitoring, ensuring that Seagate products—from upstream materials through downstream customer shipments—meet the highest standards.

At Seagate Thailand and Wuxi, we play a critical role in safeguarding the quality of Recording Head, a key component in hard disk drives, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

About the role - you will:

As an RHO Quality Engineer Intern, you will support the RHO Quality team, with responsibility for the quality of components from incoming material to finished goods inventory. Your work will be crucial in detecting abnormalities, resolving complex issues, and driving long-term improvements.

Your responsibilities will fall into the improvement on 2 focus areas:

1. Quality Monitoring and Problem Solving

  • Deep-dive E2E analysis to identify and address systemic issues or process abnormalities

2. Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Support data-driven quality improvement projects using Industrial 4.0, Prescriptive Analytics, and digital tools
  • Develop and deploy dashboards and automated tools for real-time quality tracking

Your Job Scope will cover these 4 topics:

  • Support development of agentic AI prototypes for Global Quality, especially around anomaly detection and process-control dashboards.
  • Design interactive visualizations (dashboards, mock-ups, SharePoint UI, or lightweight web apps) to present anomalies, CTQ/KPIV trends, and model insights in an intuitive and storytelling format.
  • Work closely with engineering SMEs to translate statistical/anomaly outputs into human-readable narratives, supporting adoption and decision-making.
  • Explore automation of reporting/visual insights into SharePoint/Power BI or similar platforms for real-time accessibility.

What Will You Learn and Embark on at the Start?

You will begin by familiarizing yourself with Seagate’s quality datasets and AI/ML initiatives. Initial tasks include creating visualization prototypes, developing SharePoint dashboards, and supporting agentic workflow experiments.

What You Would Ultimately Be Able to Be Proficient In?

You will gain proficiency in agentic AI design, dashboard development, data storytelling, and enterprise reporting platforms. You will also develop strong collaboration skills with engineers and data scientists while contributing to systematic AI deployment

About you:

  • Able to work in high-pressure situations, where decisions directly impact customer quality
  • Passionate, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset, with flexibility to adapt to changing environments
  • Proactive and eager to take on new challenges and technologies
  • Effective communicator in both Thai and English, capable of presenting technical findings clearly

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or related fields
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in data analysis
  • Experience in Power BI, JMP, Minitab, or other data analysis tools is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Python or R visualization libraries (matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, D3.js).

Korat, Thailand
