Corporate Finance

The Houlihan Lokey Corporate Finance business has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defense, and other related advisory services for a broad range of clients. In addition, we have the proven ability to engineer and execute financing solutions that are essential for growth and success and offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities. Scope

Throughout the year, Houlihan Lokey offers 6-month internship opportunities at their Hong Kong office. The internship is a unique opportunity to work alongside investment bankers in a stimulating environment, gaining experience in cross-border M&A and going private transactions of U.S.-listed Chinese companies.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job training. Throughout your internship you will get similar levels of exposure as a first-year analyst, assisting in the preparation of materials for clients and conducting market, industry, and company analyses. Furthermore, you will gain experience in financial modelling, valuation analyses, supporting due diligence processes, and other ad-hoc tasks.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Fluency in verbal and written English and Mandarin required
  • A strong academic track record from a highly regarded university – near completing or having recently graduated from university
  • Prior internship experience in a leading investment bank, private equity firm or corporate investment department is preferred
  • Candidates able to work five days per week onsite are highly preferred
  • Quick learner with high attention to detail
  • Ability to look in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and modelling capabilities with knowledge of corporate finance
  • Skilled in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g. Capital IQ, Mergermarket)
