Job Summary
The Enrollment intern role is an exciting part of the School Support and Service (S3) team, ensuring support to the Enrollment team in all aspects of the enrollment process for KIPP DC schools. This includes assisting with recruitment events, processing applications, communicating with families, and data entry. The intern will gain valuable experience in the field of education and contribute to the success of KIPP DC's mission. This is a summer intern role that runs for 9 weeks (June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026), based on KIPP DC campuses with an anticipated start date of June 1st, 2026.
For 25 years, KIPP DC has partnered with students, families, and the community to create joyful, academically excellent schools across the nation’s capital. Today, our network of 22 schools educate more than 7,500 students in grades PreK3-12, supported by 1,500 dedicated teachers, leaders, and staff.

About the teamThe Enrollment team is a small but mighty group dedicated to ensuring that all families in Washington, D.C. have access to high-quality public schools. We are passionate about providing excellent customer service to families and supporting them through the enrollment process. The team is collaborative, close knit, and prioritizes ensuring all students and families have a red-carpet customer experience during the enrollment period.
About the Role
The Enrollment Intern will have the opportunity to learn about the enrollment process from start to finish. They will work closely with Enrollment team members to support all enrollment activities. It will provide the intern a peek into the experience of what it takes to be part of a child’s village in their education journey. It is perfect for the detail-oriented person who wants to contribute to the behind the scenes work of what it takes to get schools fully enrolled and ready for children to learn. This is a Non-exempt position and will report to the Director of School Support and Service (S3).
Location and Type of Work
As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support which requires this position to be fully on-site. This role is currently required to be on-site or in schools during regular work hours.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive support to the Enrollment team (100%)
- Assist Compliance Managers with daily tasks and
- Process enrollment applications.
- Communicate with families via phone, email, and in-person.
- Enter data into the enrollment system.
- Provide general administrative support to the Enrollment team.
Requirements & Preferences
Required Qualifications (3-5):
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program
- Interest in education and/or public service.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Google platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Ability to stand frequently
- Ability to travel across KIPP DC schools and throughout Washington, DC.

Benefits & Compensation
The KIPP DC summer internship program offers a competitive hourly wage of $18.00, allowing you to gain valuable experience while earning a decent income. Interns are eligible to work up to 30 hours per week, providing flexibility to balance your work and personal life.
Please note that the program will follow the KIPP DC HDQ holiday calendar which includes two unpaid holidays: Juneteenth (June 19) and the 4th of July observation (July 3), giving you time to celebrate and recharge.
