Job Description:

We are offering a 12-month placement for students (students should currently be in their 2nd year and looking to complete their 3rd year in Industry), and this position will allow you to gain experience working in a high-tech environment, to learn about the full product development lifecycle, and to develop an understanding of our industry and its technologies.

Position will commence in Summer 2026

Microchip Technology provides a conducive learning environment for electronic, electrical and computer engineering interns with a high conversion rate to full time jobs after graduation.

Job Responsibilities
During your internship, we will assign you to several different activities and tasks to provide you with a rounded experience of our work environment, typical examples include:
o    Assist the design engineering staff on System Verilog RTL Design to build advance 32-bit Microcontrollers
o    Assist the pre-silicon verification engineering staff using UVM/SV in module level and chip level verification
o    Assist in the validation testing of new products
o    Work on improving design automation scripts for the SoC design flows
o    Work on writing new technical documentation or improving existing documentation
 

Requirements/Qualifications:

o    Candidate must be on an engineering, scientific or numerate course and expecting to attain 2:1 Hons or higher
o    Candidate must be energetic with a strong desire to work closely and co-operatively with others as an integral member of a team in this world-class organisation
o    Ideally, candidate will have some familiarity with Verilog / System Verilog / VHDL for design and verification
o    Candidate should have scripting and automation experience in, for example Linux shell scripting, Python, Tcl, Makefile and revision management
o    Able to write good technical documentation
o    Must be organized and detail oriented
