About the Internship

Join the Engineering team at Collins Aerospace, where precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement drive every aspect of aerospace manufacturing.
As a Productivity & Process Optimization Intern, you will support efforts to improve machining throughput, reduce waste, and achieve a targeted 5% productivity improvement. You will work closely with engineers and production teams to conduct data-driven studies, enhance CAD/CAM programming efficiency, and drive meaningful operational improvements.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to time studies, process analysis, and NX CAD modelling, offering a unique opportunity to develop strong analytical and engineering problem-solving skills.

What You Will Learn

What You Will Work On

  • Support productivity improvement goals by analyzing processes and identifying waste reduction opportunities.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to evaluate operational steps, cycle time, and workflow efficiency.
  • Perform data collection and analysis on production, quality, and performance metrics to identify trends and root causes.
  • Enhance CAD/CAM programming efficiency and machining throughput using NX or other CAD/CAM tools.
  • Support improvement projects with engineering teams to develop and implement corrective or optimization actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure improvements are executed and results are tracked.
  • Assist in documenting findings, preparing reports, and presenting outcomes for review by engineering leadership.
