<h3>The Position</h3><p><b>2026 Summer Intern - Scientific Learning Program Specialist, gRED Learning and Development</b><br /> </p><p><b>Department Summary</b><br /> </p><p>At Genentech, the Research and Early Development (gRED) group is the engine of our innovation, comprised of the brilliant minds responsible for groundbreaking science. But even the best minds need to keep growing.<br /> </p><p>We are looking for a Scientific Learning Program Specialist to join our vibrant gRED Learning & Development team reporting to the Learner Impact Lead within gRED L&D Team. As the Scientific Learning Program Specialist Intern, you will play a critical role in elevating the scientific capabilities of this community. Your mission is to design, deliver, and operationalize impactful learning experiences that strengthen scientific excellence across gRED.<br /> </p><p>This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of Science, Learning and Technology. You will step into a high-visibility role where you serve as the primary point of contact for US-based Scientific Content Learning Program—ensuring high-quality learning sessions, excellent participant experience, and data-driven improvements that directly contribute to a culture of continuous learning. You will not only learn how enterprise learning programs are designed and measured, but you will also have the autonomy to drive engagement and present your impact to leadership at the end of your tenure.<br /> </p><p>This internship position is located in<b> South San Francisco, on-site.</b></p><p><br /><b>The Opportunity</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Own the Operational Excellence of the Program</b><br />Manage all logistics for 30–40 learning sessions, plan the yearly learning schedule with the L&D team, optimize timing across time zones, and maintain a consistent schedule that maximizes attendance.</p></li><li><p><b>Become the "Face" of gRED Scientific Learning Programs</b><br />Act as the primary moderator for US sessions, coordinate with the L&D team and partners, introduce speakers, facilitate Q&A, manage virtual/hybrid sessions, configure sessions in the LMS, and troubleshoot technical or setup issues.</p></li><li><p><b>Drive Learner Engagement & Awareness</b><br />Promote sessions through internal communication campaigns (Slack, email, intranet), monitor participation, and adjust strategies to maximize engagement among target audiences.</p></li><li><p><b>Transform Feedback into Action</b><br />Collect attendance and survey data, analyze metrics, provide clear reports and recommendations, and identify ways to improve engagement and session quality.</p></li><li><p><b>Curate a High-Value Content Library</b><br />Edit session recordings and manage the content repository to maintain a high-quality, up-to-date on-demand learning library for scientists.</p></li></ul><p><br /><b>Program Highlights</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Intensive 6 months full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.</b></p></li><li><p><b>Program start dates are May/June 2026. </b></p></li><li><p><b>A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. </b></p></li><li><p>Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.</p></li><li><p>Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.</p></li><li><p>You will manage business-critical projects, not busy work.</p></li><li><p>Build connections across functions and present your key learnings to leadership.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Who You Are </b></p><p></p><p><b>Required Education </b><br />You meet one of the following criteria:</p><ul><li><p>Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Majors:</b> HR, Psychology, Education, Learning and Development, Business, Communications, Sciences or any other relevant fields. </p><p></p><p><b>Required Skills: </b></p><ul><li><p><b>Project Management & Curiosity: </b>Strong project management mindset with a genuine interest in education and science.</p></li><li><p><b>Organization & Detail Orientation:</b> Highly organized, able to manage multiple dates, speakers, and technical setups across time zones.</p></li><li><p><b>Communication Skills: </b>Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to large virtual groups and creating engaging written content.</p></li><li><p><b>Technical Proficiency: </b>Skilled with Google Workspace and AI tools (e.g., Gemini); willing to learn new platforms like Cornerstone LMS or Tableau.</p></li><li><p><b>Cultural Fit & Soft Skills:</b> Demonstrates integrity, courage, and passion; proactive, adaptable, and collaborative in a diverse, cross-functional team.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>A master degree is a plus. </p></li><li><p>Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.</p></li><li><p>Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Learning Experience Platforms (LXP).</p></li><li><p>Basic skills in data visualization or survey analysis.</p></li><li><p>1–2 years of relevant work or internship experience.<br /> </p></li></ul><p><b>Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. </b><br /> </p><p>The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is<b> $31.00-$40.00 per hour.</b>  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
