About the Role

Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative RF engineering intern for our West Caldwell, NJ location to support the design, testing, and characterization of advanced RF components and integrated assemblies. In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with experienced RF engineers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, contributing to active development programs while building real-world engineering skills. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Test and evaluate RF components and modules to verify performance against design specifications

  • Design, build, and support RF test fixtures for component and system characterization

  • Generate and maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs) for RF assemblies

  • Support ongoing RF development projects and product improvement initiatives

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including test results and design data

  • Provide engineering support for existing RF products under the guidance of senior engineers

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
  • Foundational understanding of RF theory principals gained through coursework, academic projects, or internships
  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, or similar lab tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new technical concepts in a hands-on environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of RF circuit fundamentals and basic RF design techniques
  • Experience with RF simulation tools such as AWR, MATLAB, HFSS, or similar EM/circuit simulation software

  • Familiarity with CAD tools for circuit design and layout

  • Experience performing RF measurements using Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and related instrumentation
