About the Role

Description

Job Summary:  The overall objective of this role is assisting the administrative team with keeping track of summer employment staff, initiating onboarding tasks, data entry and maintaining records of employees, engaging in recruitment and other tasks assigned by supervisor. This self-driven candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills, be able to communicate effectively, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. In this position, this candidate will gain sought-after experience as they will have hands-on exposure to Human Resources. HR Intern will report directly to VP of Finance. 


Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist Office Coordinator with onboarding summer employees (e.g., initiating criminal background checks and drug screenings, etc.) 
  • Perform hires and re-hires utilizing Paylocity 
  • Provide support to summer teens and supervisors  
  • Perform basic data entry and bookkeeping tasks  
  • Collaborate with Programs to recruit summer staff  
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) 
  • Coordinate with Office Coordinator to manage calendars 
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Requirements

  • Currently obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Organizational Leadership, or a related field 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and willingness to learn 
  • Previous administrative, office, or HR-related experience preferred but not required
