Join American Forest Management for a hands-on and enriching summer internship experience in the vibrant Louisiana Region! We are seeking 1 motivated, curious individual eager to explore the world of consulting forestry alongside experienced professionals. As an intern at one of our locations in Winnfield, LA, you'll embark on a summer of professional growth, skill development, and real-world learning under the mentorship of our skilled foresters.

What to Expect:

  • Collaborate with experienced foresters on a variety of forestry and land management tasks, including inventory work, timber sale layout, streamside buffer delineation, harvesting inspections, silvicultural activity inspections, GIS/GPS applications, and general tract inspections.
  • Immerse yourself in the outdoors while developing critical thinking, data analysis, and field navigation skills.

Position Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  • Enthusiastic about a future in consulting forestry.
  • Previous experience in forest inventory is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with GIS/GPS software and tools is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, and managers.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be comfortable working in various outdoor environments.
