Success in this role will require someone who is highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness. Students must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, ability to collaborate across teams, particularly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The student will have the opportunity to gain insight into how investment decisions are made, and client relationships are managed within Wealth Management.</p><p></p><p><b>What will you do?</b></p><ul><li><p>Support product initiatives by preparing ad-hoc reports and assisting in related projects</p></li><li><p>Assist the team with market intelligence and source articles/content aligned with current market themes and fund sales opportunities</p></li><li><p>Develop and test investment models to assist new investment solutions development process</p></li><li><p>Assist in maintaining and improving portfolio risk monitoring practices by enhancing the risk metrics available to entire organization</p></li><li><p>Assist with day-to-day oversight of the business and product management of the Portfolio Solutions across all distribution channels, create and circulate product related insights, competitive intelligence, market updates and additional value adding materials</p></li><li><p>Participate in the investment policy statement development process for funds and segregated accounts</p></li><li><p>Update macroeconomic and market oriented chartbook on a regular basis using Excel/Macros/Bloomberg & PowerPoint </p></li><li><p>Performing research and providing answers for customer generated inquiries.</p></li><li><p>Documenting processes or upgrading existing procedure manuals.</p></li><li><p>Understands and follows the established processes, policies, and procedures for tax preparation and other accounts, ensuring efficient, effective, and seamless administration and quality client service is achieved</p></li><li><p>Monitor team mailbox, respond to inquiries and report user statistics</p></li><li><p>Compile data for monthly reports and other regular reporting as required</p></li><li><p>Update CRM system (Salesforce) to capture key business development activities.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What do you need to succeed?</b></p><p><b>Must have:</b></p><ul><li><p><span>Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs.</span></p></li><li><p>Intermediate/Advanced MS Office Skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).</p></li><li><p>Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with high attention to detail.</p></li><li><p>Good knowledge of regional and local financial markets, economic disciplines, and regulation</p></li><li><p>Displays strong competencies in relationship management, collaboration, and time management</p></li><li><p>Excellent written and oral communication skills</p></li><li><p>Good understanding of the economy and capital markets</p></li><li><p>An interest in investment management and desire to learn more about the industry</p></li><li><p>Tax software skills (Taxprep would be an asset)</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Nice to have:</b></p><ul><li><p>Experience leading small projects or small/medium enhancements.</p></li><li><p>Has successfully managed multiple small projects or initiatives simultaneously.</p></li><li><p>Some experience working on projects with information technology components.</p></li><li><p>Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders</p></li><li><p>Passion and enthusiasm for learning about the inner workings of the economy and markets</p></li><li><p>Strong writing skills, and the ability to capture meeting notes and key takeaways for distribution to the team.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Please note</span></b>: </p><p>In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either: </p><ul><li><p>Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or </p></li><li><p>If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>What’s in it for you?</span></b></p><p>We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
