Klein & Hoffman is seeking Structural Engineering interns for our Chicago, Milwaukee and Philadelphia offices.

 

Our firm’s 65 years of expertise helping clients investigate, plan and design structurally sound buildings, while delivering creative solutions to address our clients’ needs.  We are a team of structural engineers and restoration architects delivering projects that expand the functionality of buildings and facilities. Having completed numerous projects of varying sizes and complexity, the problems range from moisture infiltration to corrosion issues to the need for additional space or modernization. We investigate, assess, repair, rehabilitate and enhance existing buildings.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine engineering calculations either by hand or using structural software
  • Performs field investigations and construction observation
  • Assists in preparation of design, construction documents, and solutions to general and engineering problems
  • Performs basic drafting work either hand drawn, CAD or Revit
  • Computes and compiles structural engineering data as requested

Qualifications


  • Currently enrolled in either a Master’s degree program or completing a Bachelor's degree with intent to enroll in master's degree program in Structural Engineering or related field
  • Must be motivated, take initiative, have a curiosity and desire to learn engineering skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Quick learner, able to work independently and dependable
