Durham University are committed to a multi-year project to decolonise the curriculum. Funding is available for student internships in 2025-26. The Department interns will work on projects agreed within their Department which will have demonstrable impact on the curriculum. 



The below role descriptor seeks to capture the main requirements of the role consistently, providing a summary of the key duties of the flexible role to help in setting expectations for applicants, flexible workers and line managers. They are not intended to cover all duties which may be required.

Responsibilities

Decolonisation Project Support - Department of Finance

Casual rate

Under instruction and following appropriate training:

  • Assist with gathering materials and information

  • Review materials provided such as teaching & learning materials and reading lists

  • Under direction from supervisor, review new module materials

  • Highlight certain references and areas for review as per guidance

  • Complete administration to record, check, and update information accurately

  • Respond to requests for information.

  • Escalate queries to supervision where appropriate.

  • Work alongside the team to contribute to the delivery of specific project(s)
