SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life, the Graduate Residence Director will work with the Department of Residence Life to support the growth of Regis College Students through engagement and community building efforts in the residence halls. The Graduate Residence Director is a 12-month, 30-hour per week staff position that works to ensure a quality living environment conducive to the personal, social, and academic development of each student. This position contributes to the overall learning of the graduate RD in their professional and academic development.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Supervises 4-6 Resident Assistants (RA).
  • Provide leadership and direction in a co-educational residence hall with approximately 125-180 undergraduate and graduate residents. They will employ creative measures to create a sense of community and engagement within the hall.
  • Responsible for policy enforcement, counseling/referral, programming, community building, participation in central office functions, and general building administration/ facilities management.
  • Serve in the professional staff on-call rotation system for a campus of 5 residence halls and 750 undergraduate and graduate residents.
  • Assist in the central office operational functions of the department including opening, closing, housing selection, and room changes.
  • Implement area programming in accordance with departmental programming model through Resident Assistant Staff; and manage area budget
  • Assist with collaborative efforts within the division, including but not limited to, housing selection, themed week programming, Student Leader selection, and mission-driven university events
  • Serve as Professional Staff On-Call (PSOC) within Regis’ 24/7 Residence Life On-Call System.                                                                                 

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  •  Serve as a liaison between multiple campus offices
  •  Performs other related duties as required

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

 

  • Directly supervise an RA staff of 4-6 students; plus participation in all staff trainings (para professional and professional.)

Qualifications


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • BA required, enrollment in graduate program required
  • Previous residential and programming experience required.
  • Excellent intrapersonal, organizational and administrative skills.

 

 

STIPEND & BENEFITS:

 

  • $6,000 stipend (12-month).
  • Live-on position with room and full meal plan.
  • Tuition remission for two (2) eligible Regis graduate courses/semester, with a maximum of six graduate courses (18 credits) per academic year.
    • The following campus-based programs are eligible for tuition remission:
      • 60 credits of MA in Counseling (24 credits are not covered by tuition remission. The supervised field experience must be completed after the graduate intern role is complete.)
      • 33 credits of MS in Regulatory and Clinical Research Management
      • 30 credits of MS in Digital Marketing and Communications
    • The following fully online programs qualify for tuition remission on a space-available basis:
      • 33 credits of MS in Health Administration
      • 42 credits of Master of Public Health (6 credits are not covered by tuition remission
      • 30 credits of Master of Social Work.
    • Courses in Graduate Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Speech Language Pathology, and Doctor of Education programs are not eligible for tuition remission. Training and professional development opportunities.
  • Flexible schedule.

 

NOTE: This is a 12-month position, with the opportunity to continue the position for one additional 12-month term (24-month maximum).

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

  • Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc. 
  • Occasional exposure to extreme noise at campus events.
  • Requires occasional work outside during events.
  • Use of computer keyboards, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
  • Involves attendance at evening and weekend events and meetings
  • This is a live-in position.
