About the Role

RWE Supply & Trading GmbH
To start as soon as possible, full time, fixed term (6+ months)

Are you eager to make your first impactful steps in credit risk management within a dynamic trading environment? This internship is more than just a learning opportunity, also serving as a gateway to hands-on experience at the very heart of Europe’s energy trading hub. The credit risk control department designs, implements, and operates procedures for credit risk analytics, cash liquidity management, the corporate FX hedging process and quantitative aspects of financial markets regulations. Here, you’ll work closely with expert colleagues, while being empowered to drive meaningful change.

About the role

Some of your opportunities will include:

  • Play a vital role in driving the credit and liquidity risk control function, working in close partnership with colleagues across the department to safeguard and optimise our trading activities.
  • Drive the evolution of our counterparty credit and liquidity risk frameworks, continuously exploring smarter methods and system enhancements to keep us at the cutting edge.
  • Deliver impactful ad-hoc analyses that unlock critical business insights, enabling the team to respond nimbly to evolving market dynamics and deliver value across the organisation.

Job requirements and experience

  • Currently studying business administration, economics, mathematics, science or a related field (at least in your 4th semester), preferably with a focus on risk management, finance or analytical topics.
  • Demonstrated affinity for programming, with practical experience in coding or data analysis.
  • Able to approach challenges independently, using analytical and structured thinking to drive effective results.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to manage conflict constructively.

Advantageous, but not essential

  • Experience with data analysis tools or platforms (such as Python, SQL or Power BI).
  • Prior internship experience in financial markets or trading.

What we value most is passion, willingness to learn and a determined and resilient work ethic. So, even if you think you do not yet display all of the skills above we would still like to hear from you.
