Onshape is a next-generation Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product development platform that helps businesses of all sizes modernize and accelerate their design and manufacturing processes. As the only cloud-native, all-in-one system that combines robust computer-aided design (CAD) with powerful data management and collaboration tools, Onshape enables extended design teams to work together faster from any location and empowers executives with real-time analytics and visibility into operations.

Your Impact

As an intern, you will design, implement, and deliver maintainable, performant Java code for the Onshape SaaS platform—the foundation of the Onshape product. Your contributions will be deployed to customers, and thanks to Onshape’s agile release cycle, you’ll likely see your work in production before your internship ends.

Your Team

You’ll join the Onshape Platform team, which builds the highly scalable and robust infrastructure that powers Onshape. The team operates within a mature, agile, and data-driven engineering culture that values innovation, iteration, and continuous improvement.

Interns are treated as full-fledged team members, with responsibilities and expectations similar to those of full-time engineers.

Your Day-to-Day

• Develop new code to enhance the Onshape platform
• Collaborate with UX designers to define functionality
• Participate in code reviews as both reviewer and reviewee
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs in both new and existing code

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Comfortable with at least one of the following programming languages: Java or C++
• Experience working on a software engineering team
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated average hourly rate for this position is $32/hour.  This rate reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's major, degree currently being pursued and location.
