The Pryor, Oklahoma plant is an important manufacturing facility within Interplastic, supporting large-scale production and operational excellence. This site offers hands-on exposure to engineering in an active, plant-based environment and is committed to developing future engineers through meaningful project work and mentorship.


What You’ll Do as an Engineering Intern:

As an Engineering Intern at Interplastic’s Pryor plant, you will work directly with engineering, production, and operations teams to support manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This internship is designed to provide real-world engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.


What You Can Expect to Do in This Role:

  • Support engineering projects related to manufacturing processes, equipment optimization, and plant efficiency.

  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support engineering and operational decisions.

  • Participate in plant floor activities, including process observation and basic troubleshooting.

  • Help develop or update SOPs, work instructions, process flow diagrams, or engineering documentation.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement, safety, and quality initiatives.

  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.

  • Learn about composite materials, resin and gel coat manufacturing processes, and plant operations.

  • Develop professional skills in problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and time management.


What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).

  • Interest in manufacturing, process engineering, or industrial operations.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Willingness to work in a hands-on, plant-based environment.

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, email, etc.).

Preferred (but Not Required):

  • Prior internship, co-op, or project-based experience.

  • Coursework related to chemical engineering, manufacturing, or materials science.

  • Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Pay Transparency:

Hourly Compensation: $25.00
Hours and schedule can be adjusted based on academic requirements.
