Introduction to role
Are you keen to experience the challenges of complex global supply chains for medicines, and to learn about how we design and set-up supply chains for resilience and sustainability? These cover all manufacturing stages through the supply chain, across many stages and technologies, and often across multiple locations both inside AstraZeneca and through external sourcing. We consider many factors such as quality and regulatory, patient needs, capacity and capability, sustainability, financial and legal. We develop long-term strategy, resolve complex trade-off decisions, and lead implementation and operation of supply chains through teams across the world.
We have exciting opportunities for you to get involved in this work in our Global Supply Chain & Strategy group, as part of a team supporting leaders of supply chain strategy and product launches.
Accountabilities
To support the teams leading supply chain strategy for our medicines, and/or new product launches. This could include working with digital tools e.g. for performance dashboards, decision-support, or process mapping. It could include working with small teams to identify, define and implement business process improvements. It could include working with supply strategy teams to evaluate opportunities or challenges and develop proposals for decisions to be made, or projects to be implemented.
Essential Skills/Experience
No specific experience is required; e.g. it is not essential to be studying sciences, or a supply chain or logistics degree. You must have a passion for learning, interest in science, and enthusiasm to collaborate with others. You should be in your 2nd or 3rd year of undergraduate studies.
Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
Must have UK right-to-work status.
Candidates graduating before/during the programme are not eligible.
