We’re a company of ambitious, collaborative, problem-solvers who get things done. We strive to make sure everyone that works for us feel seen, heard, and valued – so we’re looking for like-minded people to join us.

We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.

As an Accounting Intern within our Finance function, you will perform a range of activities including bank reconciliations, assisting with financial controls testing, and reporting activities compliant with relevant regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley and Solvency II, and with Aegon methodologies and practices. You’ll also gain insight across the wider Finance function, as well as change activities impacting the wider UK business.

We are hiring 5 interns to work in the Finance department for summer 2026.  This 12-week internship will provide successful candidates with the opportunity to gain a basic knowledge and understanding through hands-on involvement in Aegon UK’s Finance department.

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • Undergraduates currently in their penultimate year of a university degree in a relevant subject, for instance Accounting or Finance, and on course for at least a 2:1 Honours degree or equivalent.
  • Interested in a career as an Accountant.
  • Available full time between June – August 2026.
  • Highly motivated, with the drive and stamina to act on your own initiative.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
  • Able to analyse and interpret large amounts of complex data. Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and an analytical approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

You will be required to work 7 hours per day, Monday to Friday on an hourly rate of £13.45.

We believe in hiring for potential. To help us find the best people, we ask all applicants for our Summer Interns to complete a short series of online tasks as the first step in our selection process. This is designed to find out more about you, your skills and natural behaviours. You’ll receive an email from our assessment partner (Arctic Shores) with details and an invitation to complete the tasks. These typically take 20-30mins and can be done on a variety of devices, including your phone.

We're looking for talented individuals who are ready to make a real impact. If you're excited about new challenges and want to work with a team that values your skills, apply today!

The legal bits

We’ll need you to confirm you have the right to work in the UK. If we offer you a job and you accept, there are some checks we need to complete before you can start with us. This will include a credit and criminal record check, as well as providing satisfactory references.
