About the Role
<p><strong>Lab Summary: </strong>The Standards & Mobility Innovation team is committed to developing technologies that enable ubiquitous access to information and provide immersive multimedia experiences for mobility users. Our research focuses on:</p>
<ul>
<li>Wireless standards and technology including Wi-Fi, 5G, LTE-A, IoT</li>
<li>RF & fast prototyping of 5G and IEEE 802 wireless systems and/or use cases</li>
<li>Multimedia standards and technology including VR, HDR, All-IP delivery</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Position Requirements: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Performing research for next generation wireless communication solutions and systems</li>
<li>Apply cutting edge deep learning (DL) techniques for developing optimized solutions and systems, and demonstrate improved performance</li>
<li>Create system specification based on the high level concept including applying deep learning for wireless systems in both physical layer or higher layer</li>
<li>Integrate wireless system simulator with generic machine learning environments, and evaluate performance with AI-in-the-loop simulations or prototyping</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Required Skills</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Currently pursuing PhD in relevant field</li>
<li>Excellent hand-on experience in deep learning architecture design and implementation, hyper-parameter tuning, model evaluation, performance analysis and debugging</li>
<li>Excellent coding skills in Python and Python based ML modules such as Scikit-learn, Keras, Tensor flow, Keras-RL, PyTorch and Pandas libraries</li>
<li>Solid background in wireless communication areas such as digital signal processing, filter theory, FFTs, synchronization, detection, equalization, MIMO, user scheduling, link adaptation, power control, etc.</li>
<li>Experience implementing machine learning algorithms for solving challenging problems preferably in wireless communication system design</li>
<li>Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills</li>
