Our expectations:

As a part of the Plant 41 Manufacturing OT group in Plant 41, work to provide and implement solutions, improvements and opportunities on manufacturing lines and automated processes.  You will be an integral part in redefining operations to bring Halifax manufacturing to Industry 4.0 standards.

What your day to day will look like:

  • Provide solutions to device related manufacturing problems.

  • Maintain newly installed and legacy computer, network, hardware, and software systems, troubleshoot software, hardware, and network problems, disaster recovery preparedness. 

  • Introduce, maintain, and optimize technical solutions for existing systems.

  • Upgrading or innovating operating systems with automation solutions, with an end goal of Industry 4.0.

  • Analyze, design, and implement short- and long-term solutions to improve manufacturing capabilities.

  • Implement programming initiatives to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Provide support to 24/7 operations – may involve working outside of normal working hours or shift work.

  • Commitment to EH&S and Quality objectives.

  • Provide project updates via presentations to leadership.

  • Work closely with operators, area specialists and leadership to gather feedback to create opportunities that address the needs of manufacturing lines.

What you need to be successful:

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.

  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.

  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.

  • Pursuing a degree in Applied Computer Science or Computer Science Excellent communication skills in English (spoken/written). French is an asset.
