ADI’s Quality Management Systems and Operations team emphases product and data quality, delighting customers, and business process efficiency. The Quality Systems Engineer will thoroughly examine and analyze detailed technical specifications for a product, project, or service, ensuring accuracy and completeness to all necessary quality standards and technical requirements. The Quality System Engineer often identifies potential issues and proposes improvements.This role offers a unique opportunity for candidates to expand their expertise with exposure to diverse ADI functions.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Analyze technical documents (detailed specifications, design drawings, technical requirements, performance parameters, material specification, etc.) to identify any inconsistencies, ambiguities, or potential issues.  
  • Quality control to ensure specifications adhere to company guidelines, relevant industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Actively contribute to maintaining high quality standards throughout the product life cycle.   
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement activities related to specification review processes, to include business process automation.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, engineers, product managers, quality assurance, procurement, etc.) to clarify requirements, address concerns, and ensure specification align with project goals.  
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and recordkeeping of specification review findings, including detailed reports on issues identified and corrective actions taken. Update and maintain specification documents with any changes or approvals.  

 

Qualifications 

We are seeking a Specification Reviewer to meticulously examine and validate technical specifications for products, ensuring they meet quality standards, compliance regulations, and project requirements. 

 

Knowledge and experience in the following areas is a plus:  

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and relevant industry standards.  
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and documentation processes.  
  • Familiar with engineering principles, design practices, and quality control methodologies, such as Total Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.  
  • Knowledge of process controls and automotive core tools.  
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for document management and analysis.  
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and product specifications.  
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues proactively.  

   

In addition, since it will be necessary to engage with all levels of the organization, the ideal candidate will need to demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills, and an appetite for learning.   

 

Education & experience 

Must be pursuing a B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field), Quality Assurance, or Computer Science. Relevant coursework includes statistics, process engineering, product quality control, and customer relationship management. Strong emphasis on analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, developed through targeted classes in mathematics, technical writing, and project management.  

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export  licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.  As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
