Hi, I’m Josh, looking for a Summer 2026 Global Procurement Intern.

Who Am I?

Josh Pratt - Director Raw Materials Procurement: I take a data driven approach to identifying opportunities. I like to set goals for my team and not micromanage how they approach them but ensure to offer guidance and assistance when needed.

What Do We Do?

Business Unit: Global Procurement

We manage all purchasing of raw materials, energy, and commodities for Carpenter Technology. Our primary goal is to ensure CTC is receiving the most cost-effective solutions from their supplier partners. We drive efficiency and cost savings through negotiations and coordination.

Ongoing Projects

Cost savings initiatives, new supplier qualifications, cash flow improvements, negotiation prep, market research, Request for Proposal management (RFP).

Your Role as an Intern

You will be a part of a dynamic team, supporting the following tasks:

  • Assisting with business analytics
  • Running small RFP’s

What Do We Require?

You must be:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Business Management or Logistics Management
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Willing and able to work on-site at our Reading PA location.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in excel
  • Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics: action oriented, curious and excited to learn.
  • Applicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter’s government contracts.

Pay Range

Hourly rates are based on: 1 – Program of study; 2 – Degree type (i.e., Bachelor’s); 3 – Progression in degree (i.e., 1st year, 2nd year, etc.). The range for this position is $19.50 - $22.00 per hour.

Commuting/Housing Assistance (If Eligible)

Interns who must commute to work from outside the immediate Reading, PA area (over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $2,400 (less applicable taxes) as excessive commute allowance. Interns who choose to temporarily relocate from outside the immediate Reading, PA area (moving over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $4,800 (less applicable taxes) as a housing allowance. If applicable, this payment would be made during the first payroll cycle, which would be three or four weeks following the internship start date.
