Summer 2026 Internship Program – Quality Control Intern, Taste Texture & Health

We are currently looking for a Quality Control intern in our Lakeland, FL office.

The 2026 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will begin June 1st, 2026, and run through August 14, 2026.

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Your key responsibilities

  • Perform wet chemistry analyses such a refractive index, specific gravity, aldehydes, and other physical testing using the Rudolph, Mettler, and other equipment
  • Purging of old file documents
  • Organizing document repositories
  • Purging outdated samples from storage locations

You Bring

  • Currently working on completion of a bachelor’s degree in science or related field
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time beginning on June 1, 2026 – August 14, 2026
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and parse data
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

 

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. Compensation will be dependent on factors that include location, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.

At the end of this internship:

The intern will have the knowledge of basic flavor chemistry, ingredient knowledge, sensory evaluation, good laboratory practices, good documentation practices, quality control, regulatory compliance, team collaboration, and problem solving. Overall, the internship will provide a comprehensive introduction to the food and beverage industry, preparing the intern for future opportunities in food science and laboratory environments.
