Plasticcycle is a Social Entrepreneurship project of the John Keells Group launched in 2017 aimed at reducing plastic pollution, by encouraging reduction in the use of single-use plastics, supporting responsible disposal, and promoting recycling initiatives.

General responsibilities include

  1. Assist operations in gathering data from corporate and industry partners.
  2. Visit partners’ locations (independently or with the team) and assist in awareness sessions, branding, and communications activities.
  3. Creating and editing videos for social media.
  4. Develop flyers for the internal requirements of Plasticcycle.
  5. Supporting with record keeping and archiving.
  6. Support with logistics and coordination of Plasticcycle events. 

Person Specifications

  1. Post- Advanced Levels school leaver or undergraduate in any field (experience in environmental conservation clubs and societies will be an advantage).
  2. Proficiency in Sinhala and English written and verbal communication skills (Tamil language skills would be an advantage)
  3. Knowledge of creative design (Canva, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and social media.
  4. Interest in current trends and news relating to protecting the planet and sustainability.
