Job Description
The Social Media Summer Intern helps tell the lifestyle story behind Tricon's purpose-built rental communities - from resort-quality amenities (state-of-the-art gyms, outdoor pools, music studios, resident lounges, and more), to resident events that showcase the best the city has to offer (exclusive partnerships, cultural activations, concerts, tastings), to everyday moments and the people who bring the buildings to life.This Social Media Summer Intern works closely with the Content Coordinator and the broader Marketing team to help strengthen Tricon’s digital presence across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms. They will have hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of real estate marketing, including brand development, resident experience, and community activation, while also getting a behind-the-scenes look at Tricon’s vertically integrated business.
The Social Media Summer Intern is a hands-on creator who understands today’s social platforms, moves quickly with trends, and is eager to gain real-world experience contributing to an established, design-forward lifestyle brand. They will help bring our communities to life online through visually compelling storytelling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Content Creation & Production
Assist in planning, filming, and editing short-form video content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging platforms.
Contribute creative ideas aligned with Tricon’s brand standards, design-forward aesthetic, and lifestyle programming.
Capture on-site content across buildings, amenities, neighbourhoods, and events.
Help organize and maintain a comprehensive digital asset library.
Social Media Support
Support the scheduling and deployment of content across Tricon’s social channels (including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms).
Participate in community management, including monitoring comments and identifying opportunities for engagement.
Ensure all content reflects Tricon’s tone, message discipline, and visual identity.
Capture content at property sites in various development stages (under construction and occupied), including evening and weekend resident events and milestones.
Market Research & Insights
Track emerging social media trends, formats, and best practices relevant to residential lifestyle content.
Monitor competitor activity and conduct light benchmarking to maintain a competitive and engaging social presence.
Pull basic performance metrics and assist with interpreting results to support continuous optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Content Coordinator, Marketing team, and partners across the portfolio to support campaign and content needs.
Collaborate with marketing leadership to execute Tricon’s vision for digital-first storytelling.
Gain exposure to cross-functional teams across Development and Operations to understand the full lifecycle of Tricon’s communities and the role marketing plays at each stage.
Qualifications:
Passion for social media content creation, creative storytelling, community engagement, and brand building.
Creative mindset with the ability to conceptualize and capture compelling video content.
Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube culture, trends, and best practices.
Effective written and verbal communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Familiarity with video editing tools (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, VN, or similar).
Organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable filming in public settings, occasionally appearing on camera, and capturing content in active construction environments while adhering to safety requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a college or university program and returning to school after the internship.
Pursuing marketing, communications, media, digital arts, design, or a related discipline.
Strong academic performance with a demonstrated record of initiative, creativity, or extracurricular involvement.
Able to work onsite Monday through Friday.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or basic analytics tools is an asset.
Active interest in architecture, design, urban living, or residential real estate is an asset.

Occasionally lift, carry, and move up to 10 pounds.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Salary Range
Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.
$40,610.00 - $60,910.00
