Job Description:

Business Services, Sustainability Practices, is looking for an Enterprise Engagement Management Intern – a connector and organizer who is passionate about the impact behaviors can make on sustainable lifestyles and the circular economy and turns good ideas into campus participation.

In this role, you will design and run engagement programs that inspire students and employees to adopt sustainable behaviors and participate in circular‑economy initiatives. You’ll translate strategy into clear messages, touchpoints, events, and feedback loops that help people see themselves in the work—and take action. This includes conducting research and gathering insights from the ASU community through surveys, events and other engagement opportunities to better understand perceptions, behaviors and motivations related to sustainable practices and inform future programs and messaging.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with leading and managing projects end-to-end as well as working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with internal teams that are dedicated to and focused on excellence in every detail. This includes being comfortable mapping stakeholders, facilitating meetings, building communications, and keeping complex efforts moving in a fast‑paced environment—while sweating the details that make an experience inclusive and effective.

You will be part of a larger transdisciplinary team that brings a wide variety of skills together to shape ASU's vision of building the most innovative university in the country, with a focus on sustainable practices for the benefit of current and future generations.

Position Salary Range:

$21.40 per hour

Essential Duties:

Project Management

- Work independently as well as on a team to audit spaces and events on campus, providing insight into the environment we are trying to influence.

- Establish and maintain project schedules to ensure a smooth end-to-end development plan that meets project timeline, budget and quality bar.

- Support a “champions network” by recruiting participants, scheduling touchpoints, and sharing toolkits and updates.

- Conduct surveys and engagement activities to understand campus perspectives on sustainability.

- Clearly communicate to perform essential functions of the job.

- Provide exceptional customer service with students and employees.

- Assist operations and events as needed, which may include loading and unloading trucks and handling a variety of material, working events, etc.

Experience in:

- In the field of business administration, operations and/or events.

- Coordinating stakeholder or community engagement, customer success, program coordination or event planning.

- Creating clear communications (emails, slide decks, one‑pagers) and presenting to varied audiences.

- Tracking work with project tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Jira, Smartsheet) and shared calendars.

- Using productivity suites (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office) and collaboration tools (Zoom/Teams, Slack).

- Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills with a strong eye for attention to detail.

- Customer Service.

Knowledge of:

- Origination of leading brand activations and independent audits.

- Leading cross‑functional teams toward a common goal in a constantly changing environment.

- Sustainability practices on campus (waste reduction, reuse/recirculation, alternative transit).

- Skilled in leading cross-functional internal teams towards a common goal in a constantly changing environment.

- Distill complex concepts into clear, actionable messages and next steps across multiple channels.

Working Environment:

Work independently as well as on a team to audit spaces and events on campus

Work in an office setting and use office equipment (i.e., computers, printers, copiers, calculators, telephones). Sit or stand for extended periods.

May be asked to travel moderate distances on campus to perform work. Required use of hands/fingers for repetitive motions.

Evidence of effective communication skills.
