About the Role

Description

ICC is looking for engineering students to join our pavement engineering program! Our interns will work under the supervision of experienced pavement engineers to gain professional experience in the field of pavement analysis and pavement management consultation.  The Engineering Intern supports the engineering team by assisting with technical analysis, documentation, and project coordination. This role provides hands-on experience in real-world engineering projects while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills in a collaborative environment. 

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with pavement analysis for asphalt and concrete roadway projects
     
  • Support pavement evaluation activities, including condition surveys, distress identification, and performance assessments
     
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, technical memoranda, and recommendations
     
  • Maintain organized project documentation and data files
     

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program with an emphasis or interest in transportation or pavement engineering
     
  • Completed or currently enrolled in coursework related to transportation engineering, materials, or pavement design preferred
     
  • Basic understanding of pavement materials, mechanics, and construction methods
     
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; exposure to pavement-related software (e.g., AASHTOWare Pavement ME, PaveXpress, StreetSaver, MicroPAVER) is a plus
     
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
     
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
