Job Title: Sustainability Intern
Location: Virtual, Canada OR US
Duration: Summer 2026 - 4 Months (May 2026 – August 2026)
Availability: *Full-time availability of 37.5 – 40 hours weekly is required to be eligible for this opportunity.

About the opportunity:

As a Sustainability Intern, you will play a meaningful role in advancing our sustainability and impact goals while gaining hands-on experience across the diverse programs within our Sustainability & Impact Department.
This internship provides exposure to the full scope of corporate sustainability work, including reporting, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management, and stakeholder engagement.
What you’ll get to do:
In this role, you will support three core focus areas: sustainability reporting, emissions reduction initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. Specific responsibilities include:
- Support the completion of company sustainability disclosures, such as S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), CDP Climate Change, EcoVadis, and others.
- Research and monitor emerging trends in sustainability reporting and disclosures to help Dayforce maintain compliance and advance maturity across regulatory and voluntary frameworks.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives designed to reduce the company’s annual greenhouse gas emissions. This may include analyzing emissions data and supporting programs related to responsible and sustainable sourcing, business travel, software and AI sustainability, and/or event sustainability.
- Assist in employee engagement efforts to strengthen organizational understanding of and participation in sustainability initiatives.
Skills and experience we value:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree (in progress or recently completed) in sustainability, environmental management, business, or a related field
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities, including experience conducting data analysis and summarizing insights
- High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Exceptionally high attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
What would really make you stand out:
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks, raters, and rankers (e.g., CDP, S&P Global CSA/DJSI, EcoVadis, GRI, SASB, TCFD)
- Knowledge and experience with GHG/carbon accounting
- Experience with corporate GHG target setting and/or emissions reduction initiatives
- Experience with sustainable or responsible supply chain programs
- Experience with employee engagement initiatives
- Exposure to sustainability considerations within a SaaS environment
