About the Role

Job Description:

Summary:
We are seeking talented students who are interested in paid summer internship opportunities within the New York Mets’ front office. Ideal candidates have a long-term goal of working in professional sports. The Summer Internship Program is designed for qualified students who are entering their rising Junior or Senior year of college. The Interns selected will make a significant contribution to the organization during the 2026 season. In addition to your department, you will be able to explore other aspects of the business through joint projects, participation in lunch & learns, and various networking events. 

Program Length/Schedule:

  • The internship will run from June 1st through August 7th, 2026.

  • Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

  • Work location will be on-site at Citi Field, Flushing, NY 11368.

  • Please note game day and special event responsibilities include late nights and weekends.

  • If you are selected to participate in the interview process, the first round will include a digital interview.

  • The New York Mets will not be providing housing for the internship.​

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily Clips: Send out the Daily Clips email to all Mets front office employees and media members that cover the team.

  • Game Notes/Postgame Notes: Help compile parts of the daily game notes and postgame notes that are used by all media.

  • Video Clips:  Using a video service and their program, search video clips from news programs the day/night before and compile a video email of all Mets related stories.

  • Credentialing: Responsible for creating and distributing daily media credentials on game days for certain hours when not monitored by security.

  • Media Monitoring: At various points through the year, monitor Mets and ownership mentions in various platforms including social, TV, radio, web and print.

  • Parking: Help compile, and issue passes for the daily media parking list on game days.

  • Media Support: Responsible for setting up our press areas for home games. Must make sure the press box is set up properly. After the game, will help distribute post-game notes, and assist the writers with any questions, research needs, or problems they may have.

  • Media Guide: Help research and input information into our preseason media guide for the upcoming season.  Will also fact check and proofread certain sections of the book.

  • Minor League Report: Recap game outcomes for all Mets affiliates, highlighting notable players and standout statistics.

  • Mets Magazine: Assist in writing and editing content for the Mets Magazine.

  • Community Engagement: Assist our Community Engagement team in securing media coverage for their events

Qualifications:

  • Some knowledge of Major League Baseball rules, history and players.

  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to work and interact well with others (fellow interns, executives, front office staff, athletes, fans, corporate clients, etc.).

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Solid computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).

  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Hourly Rate: $20.00
