About the Role

VRIFY is positioned at the forefront of the mining industry's transformation, leveraging artificial intelligence to modernize mineral exploration. Our platform synthesizes large volumes of geological data to support smarter exploration decisions and improve how mining companies communicate complex information to investors.


In addition to AI-driven exploration tools, VRIFY develops immersive 3D and 360° visualization experiences that make complex geological information more accessible and engaging. Our goal is to build practical, real-world software that delivers meaningful value to both technical and non-technical users.

As a Software Developer Intern (Co-op), you will support the development and improvement of web-based software applications as part of our engineering team. This role is designed for students who want hands-on experience working on real production software while learning modern development practices.


You will work closely with experienced software developers who will provide guidance, mentorship, and regular feedback. You will contribute to features, bug fixes, and improvements under supervision, with a strong emphasis on learning, collaboration, and skill development.


This role is not intended for senior or experienced professionals. Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a solid foundation in programming fundamentals are the most important qualities for success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with building and improving web-based software features
  • Support implementation of AI-powered functionality under guidance
  • Help translate product or design requirements into working software
  • Write clean, readable, and well-documented code
  • Participate in code reviews as a learning opportunity
  • Assist with debugging issues, testing fixes, and improving reliability
  • Learn and follow best practices for version control and software development
  • Assist in building world class product for the mineral exploration industry. 
  • Support experimentation, evaluation and iteration of products using latest AI-driven capabilities.


Skills and Qualifications:


Co-op Eligibility (Required):

  • Currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Eligible for and registered with an official co-op program
  • Able to complete the internship through required co-op channels


Technical & Academic Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Academic or personal project experience in software or web development
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Introductory exposure to a modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React or Vue)
  • Familiarity with Git and version control fundamentals
  • Basic understanding of how applications communicate with APIs
  • Familiarity and affinity with LLM backed software development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)
  • Understanding of web application hosting
