The Department of Computer Science provides world-class research and education in modern computer science to foster future science, engineering and society. Aalto Science Institute (AScI) International Summer Research Programme 2026

The Aalto Science Institute International Summer Research (internship) Programme seeks 50 highly-talented, research-driven students to join cutting-edge projects, collaborate with leading research groups at Aalto University, and connect with a vibrant international community. Cultural and social activities enrich this unique summer experience in Finland, making it both professionally and personally rewarding.

The positions are available in 7 departments within the schools of Science, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, and Electrical Engineering . Please see the list of the available positions here.

AScI participants are typically hired for 12 weeks, from June to August. The exact timing should be agreed upon with the hosting research group.

Applicants must be bachelor’s, master’s, and—in exceptional cases—doctoral students,  in at least their 2nd year of study in a suitable field at a recognized university. The applicants must have an academically outstanding background appropriate for the proposed research project, and an excellent command of English.
