Overview

Reports to: District Claim Manager

Job Status: Hourly (15 – 38.5 hours per week)

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Location: On-site at Florence Regional Office

Term: May 2026 to August 2026 

 

This position will work in a support role to the Claim, Product & Risk Management, Information Technology, and Agency Support & Marketing departments as they provide service to KFB members and stakeholders in the field. Position will allow for exposure to claim projects, claim reporting, claim handling procedures, the life cycle of the insurance policy, and the support of internal and external customers. Responsibilities

Assist answering telephone, directing calls, handling inquiries and providing assistance where appropriate.

Refer customer questions to other staff as appropriate.

Provide assistance during catastrophes by serving as a catastrophe team member and assisting in the state at field offices as needed.

Provide courteous, helpful responses to all requests for assistance.

Review and assist with organization of claim data analytics.

Report incorrectly rated policies or poor risks to PARM (Underwriting) with the assistance of the supervisor.

Attend and participate in company claim meetings, seminars, and other educational opportunities as available.

Maintain good relations within the company and with the public.

Help run underwriting reports.

Help Agency Underwriting Support Field Representatives with maintenance reports.

Help work “cleanup” reports such as the Stated Amount report and Multi Vehicle Collision report.

Assist with Field Facing Team meetings and agent action plans.

Obtain a strong working knowledge of any company analytic tools necessary for measuring agency and agent performance.

Meet regularly with the field facing teams (KFB and Federation) to discuss each county.

Produce, maintain and forward to supervisor, accurate assessment reports from each visit with agency force in their assigned counties.

Regular, predictable attendance as employee has to physically be in the office.

Qualifications

High school diploma required. Must currently be enrolled in college courses.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and claims related software programs.

Good typing, proofreading and math skills.

Ability to communicate with high level of skill both orally and in writing.

Ability to make timely decisions.

Excellent human relation skills and self-motivation required.

Ability to act in a confidential manner.
