Job Details:

  • Locations: Austin, TX; Boxborough, MA; Fort Collins, CO; Longmont, CO; Fishkill, NY; or Rochester, NY  
  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term

Duration:

  • Summer/Fall Co-op: May 18, 2026 or June 22, 2026 – December 11, 2026
  • Summer: May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026 or June 22, 2026 – September 11, 2026
  • Fall: September 14, 2026 – December 11, 2026

 

What You Will Be Doing 

We are seeking a highly motivated Signal Integrity Engineering intern/co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role – 

  • Focus on the electrical design, modeling, simulation and characterization of high-speed signal propagation in AMD products. 

  • Build system level channel simulations to ensure packages and PCBs are well designed and meet required SI/PI specifications.

  • Extract models for packages, PCBs, and sockets from vendors, collecting standardized models if available, and running through simulation.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a US based University in a PhD degree program majoring in  Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
    • Knowledge of SI/PI fundamentals and hands-on experience in modeling complex structures such as packages and PCB boards.
    • Knowledge of electromagnetic theory and circuit analysis.
    • Experience in silicon packaging and PCB design for signal and power integrity.
    • Experience in electrical modeling EDA tools such as HFSS, ADS and SIwave.
    • Basic knowledge in Python, Matlab or other engineering computing languages.
    • Ability to work independently.
