About The Internship
BB Energy is seeking to add an Intern to our Accounting and Finance Team in the Houston office. This position will have an opportunity to expose to all aspects of accounting and corporate finance and gain valuable real-world experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, inventory management, bank reconciliation, fixed asset management, general ledger, and treasury.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with customer and vendor payment posting and invoice reconciliation.
- Assist with payable invoice verification and examination.
- Improve Operational Efficiency: Assist with monthly account reconciliations and tie outs to ensure accuracy in our financial reporting and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in gathering support for auditor selections.
- Generate Key Reports: Create and distribute crucial monthly reports to the team and management, ensuring they have the information they need for review.
- Assist in documenting existing (“as-is”) accounting processes and mapping proposed (“to-be”) automated workflows.
- Support the team in identifying and documenting business requirements for automation projects.
- Support the creation of training materials and user guides for processes.
- Contribute ideas to simplify or improve existing processes through technology and innovation.
Skills & Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong interest in accounting systems, automation, or process improvement.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn how technology drives efficiency in finance and accounting.
