About the Role:

This position is a summer internship with LS Power’s Private Equity team. The role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain real world investment and private equity experience, taking on the role and responsibilities of a full-time Private Equity Associate during your time at LS Power. You will learn about the power and energy industries, energy transition, and the private equity investment process.   You will have exposure to the senior management of the investment team and many parts of the investment decision-making process working within a deal team.

 

Location:

The Private Equity Summer Associate role will be located in person at our NYC office.

 

Timeframe:

Approximately 10 Weeks starting early June through mid-August.

 

Compensation

The salary for this role is $150,000 - $160,000 pro-rata. This is the range that we anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

Responsibilities

What you will do...

  • Operate as a member of the private equity investment team to evaluate investment opportunities, engage with portfolio companies, and develop and research investment themes.
  • Perform financial analysis, strategic business analysis and detailed industry research.
  • Develop investment committee memos, rating agency presentations and marketing materials.
  • Assist in due diligence efforts and support execution of financing and investment activities.

Qualifications

  • Are a first year MBA student with an outstanding academic record of accomplishments and a strong interest in the financial markets and the power industry.
  • Are a self-starter with the ability to operate effectively with limited supervision.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Are proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint with strong financial modelling capabilities.
  • Have excellent quantitative and analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of corporate finance.
