At the Leighton Buzzard facility, part the Interiors business, we design and manufacture crew rests and galley structures for the aircraft industry, as well as providing aftermarket support for all our seating and galley models. To support our existing business and drive future growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a 12-month Industrial Placement for a student looking to pursue a career in Human Resources. 

 

What you will do: 

 

During this placement you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of HR activities, working alongside experienced HR professionals and supporting real business initiatives to include: 

  • Supporting the HR team with day-to-day activities and administrative tasks 

  • Learning how the employee lifecycle works, from onboarding new starters to supporting leavers 

  • Helping to maintain HR systems and employee records accurately and confidentially 

  • Preparing HR documents, trackers, and reports 

  • Assist with assessment centres, interviews, and induction events 

  • Support early careers and STEM programmes such as apprenticeships, placements, and work experience 

  • Help to organise engagement events, wellbeing initiatives, and employee communications 

  • Support employee forums, recognition activities, and site events 

  • Assist with collecting feedback and understanding employee engagement data 

  • Support HR projects aligned to business and people priorities 

  • Data analysis and reporting using Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Act as a first point of contact for basic HR questions

We expect that you will be just starting your career so we will delight in training and supporting you through your career journey allowing you to grow in confidence, develop practical skills, and apply what you are learning at university in a real workplace environment. You will be supported by experienced colleagues throughout the placement and encouraged to get involved, ask questions, and grow your capability. 

 

Qualifications We Prefer: 

 

You will need to be a willing learner and committed to achieving both business and personal results whilst working as part of a busy team. With a curiosity about HR, employee engagement, workplace culture or future people leadership, you will be studying towards a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related subject and be available to complete a 12-month placement starting in summer 2026.  

With a great work ethic, you will have an organised approach to your work and be able to manage tasks and meet deadlines. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with different people and teams at all levels within an organisation. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

 

Previous work experience in an office, administration, or customer-facing role with experience of handling sensitive information appropriately with discretion and integrity would be advantageous
