About the Role
The Marketing Design Intern, Hachette Nashville position offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in the publishing industry to gain hands-on experience in marketing design. 
  
This internship is for those who want to learn about the lifecycle of a book and explore various aspects of digital marketing within the publishing sector. The program runs from February – May and follows a 3-day hybrid work schedule, allowing interns to work from home on Mondays, while attending the Midtown NYC office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. A company laptop will be provided for the duration of the internship, and interns are expected to work 20-28 hours per week, with a pay rate of $17 per hour. 
  
As a Marketing Design Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.  
 
Design Intern Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with and assist the Nashville marketing team on the concept and creation of all promotional graphics
  • Contribute to marketing campaign brainstorming
  • Tasks include, but not limited to designing social media banners, Amazon A+ content, print and digital ads, postcards, bookmarks, and flyers
  • Attend 1-on-1, team, and departmental meetings
Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals
  • Experience with InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva
  • Strong creative and analytical skills
  • Compelling portfolio of graphic design work
  • Enthusiasm for books  
  
The role is NYC based and requires a minimum of three set days in the office per week.

The compensation for this position is $17/hour. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
