About the Role

Job Title: Production Planning Intern

Job Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Job Description: 

  • Develop and implement manufacturing build plans to meet customer contractual delivery schedules 

  • Utilize Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system to input Master Schedule build plans, track material availability, status kit readiness, release shop orders, and maintain all shop order records and inventory integrity 

  • Update and maintain make items lead times within MRP system 

  • Manage floor stock of program components 

  • Work jointly with Manufacturing and Quality teams to execute build schedule and address any issues in a timely manner 

  • Work with Materials Planners to proactively manage the schedule and material dock dates to ensure accuracy of planning 

  • Provide hardware status, updates and performance statistics to program team based on status of hardware through Manufacturing Execution System (MES) 
     

Qualifications: 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related degree, regardless of age. 
     

Preferred Skills:  

  • Knowledge and/or experience in scheduling or supply chain planning preferred. 

  • Strong computer and analytical skills combined with the ability to manage large amounts of quantitative data 

  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Office software; working knowledge of relational data bases. 

  • Knowledge and/or experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or other enterprise planning and scheduling suite 

  • Ability to actively listen to customer and plant issues, efficiently troubleshoot problems and implement solutions in a timely and customer focused manner 

  • Demonstrated analytical, verbal, and written communication skills 

  • Proficient organization, conflict management, and adaptable in a rapidly changing environment
