What is the Opportunity?
Aecon is seeking an IDD Co-op to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support dynamic, transit projects in Canada. We are proud to support projects that are committed to faster and more convenient travel, ultimately improving transportation experiences. This starts with bringing aboard the best possible team!
Co-op Duration: 4-months
Co-op Start: May 2026

Location: 20 Carlson Court, Toronto ON
What You Will Do Here:
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and management of Common Data Environments (CDE) for project teams.
- Support the creation, validation, and coordination of 3D BIM models for design, planning, and construction.
- Participate in clash detection, issue tracking, and model quality assurance activities.
- Help prepare and organize project documentation, including model content plans, LOD matrices, and dashboards.
- Contribute to digital design validation, quantity take-off, and reporting using BIM tools.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate information exchange and digital workflows.
- Attend and support coordination meetings, taking notes and tracking action items.
- Assist with training sessions and workshops for project teams on BIM and IDD tools and processes.
- Maintain accurate records of model revisions, approvals, and project deliverables in accordance with Aecon standards.
- Support the integration of geospatial data, survey information, and technical drawings into federated BIM models.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
What You Bring to The Team:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of BIM concepts, digital design, and construction processes.
- Familiarity with BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D) is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new digital tools and workflows.
- Ability to follow established standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Interest in digital innovation and continuous improvement in construction.
- Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.

The expected pay range for this opportunity is $22 - $25/hr.
