As an intern you will be given similar responsibilities as a full-time member of the Engineering team. This will provide you with the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes your personal and professional growth. 

 

We are looking for a full-time Intern for our Houston office located in Katy, Tx to join our team for a duration of 10 consecutive weeks from June to August. 

 

As a Engineering/Technical Student for our US PICCo office, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

  • Conducts basic safety inspections and training, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Assists with third-party inspections and site reviews.
  • Assists superintendent with workforce planning.
  • Assists in tracking time, materials, and equipment.
  • Prepares quantity takeoffs as directed for production analysis, material orders, etc.
  • Assists in monitoring quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) (BLDG and CIVIL).
  • Assists project engineers/coordinators with trade contractor management, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
  • Assists with materials and equipment inventory.
  • Assists with schedules (three-week lookaheads).
  • Assists with change management.
  • Assists with documentation of performance (production, progress) commodity curves—collection, weekly productivities.
  • Assists with updating drawings and specifications.
  • Liaises with trade contractors, consultants, designers, engineers.
  • Develop and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older and able to work in Houston, TX 
  • Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a background check and substance abuse test conducted by a third party
  • Proficient with Microsoft office software
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, and perform quantity take offs 
  • Must be authorized to work in the US *PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H1-B, etc.) for this position.
