Here's how a Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) Intern Summer 2026 for our Tempe, Arizona office contributes to our team: 

Responsibilities

  • Gathers/reviews/distributes safety-related statistical information

  • Monitors site-specific programs/requirements/compliance

  • Recognizes and follows PCL and local legislative requirements

  • Anticipates questions based on experience, knowledge, and understanding of client needs

  • Conceptually visualizes a completed project or project component (e.g., generator installation process)

  • Recognizes behaviors, conditions, and activities that can adversely affect health

  • Interprets simple work sequences

  • Liaises effectively with project and field management

  • Applies basic knowledge of behavioral concepts

  • Interprets, communicates, and reinforces project safety standards to workforce

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) industry
  • A desire to pursue a career as an HSE professional
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Willing to work and live as assigned in the USA. 
  • Willing to temporarily relocate to project locations
  • This is an hourly non-exempt position
  • Must be able to navigate through a construction site on a daily basis, climb ladders and stairs
  • Must be able to work around and near heavy equipment, cranes, and other construction equipment
  • Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a background check, a physical, and a substance abuse test each conducted by a third party
