About the Role

ENGEO is looking for individuals eager to experience consulting on a construction site!


Position Summary: You will represent ENGEO on various job sites ensuring the highest quality service and engineered standards are met as defined.


Internship Goals:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform QA/QC field observations during site earthworks (grading) and site improvements (utilities, wall backfill, and street construction) following design plans and recommendations
  • Confirm compliance with project and plan specifications, and engineering recommendations
  • In-place density testing of engineered soil and rock materials during site development
  • Accurate and detailed documentation required via smartphone or surface laptop (laptop provided)
  • Submit Testing and Observation (T&O) Reports daily to Construction Services Managers for review
  • Drop off samples for laboratory testing of soil and rock

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

  • Valid California drivers' license
  • Willing to use own field vehicle for the job - daily reimbursement available
  • Show proof of field vehicle insurance - upon hire
  • Clean DMV record - 5 years
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Willing to travel
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
  • Strong basic algebraic math skills
  • Ability to read grading plans
  • Willing to work OT and weekends as needed by the project/contractor demands
  • Comfortable working alone on jobs sites, with a practical and resourceful mindset
  • Knowledge of occupational safety
  • Strong desire to serve internal PMs, clients and contractors

Education:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Current A.A or B.S. student in Earth Sciences, Geology, Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
