About the Role

Introduction

Diversey is a leading international company that provides sustainable solutions for cleaning, hygiene, and sanitization needs of professional customers in healthcare, food and dairy, hospitality, food service, beverage and retail markets. Its European headquarters is based in Breukelen and serves as a global hub for research and development work on a wide range of products. The site is outfitted with a variety of analytical tools and devices in chemistry, microbiology, and engineering labs in order to tackle the complex, dynamic challenges that real-world problems present. Currently, the G&I Chemical Development team is seeking an intern to assist with implementing analytical testing improvements at their site in Breukelen.

Summary description

This internship will focus on assisting the implementation and validation of improvements to pre-existing test methods for determining the cleaning performance of products. During this time, the intern will work as part of the Global Innovation team in the R&D department, where they will be supervised and mentored by a team member at the Breukelen site. The intern will be trained on and responsible for preparing samples, performing tests, interpreting data using statistical tools, providing suggestions and recommendations based on outcomes, identifying points for iterative improvements (where possible), collaborating with members from different technical teams from around the globe, and ensuring work-place safety standards are upheld. While working at Diversey, the intern will have a chance to develop knowledge and skills related to product development, cleaning product chemistry, analytical testing on complex mixtures, teamwork, project updates and presentations, and time management. Additionally, the internship will provide an opportunity for the intern to begin to grow their professional network for the future and to learn about various types of roles in an international company setting.
