About the Role

Description

 We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Logistics Intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience in logistics operations, scheduling, and communication within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The intern will assist in coordinating shipments, updating schedules, and supporting the logistics team to ensure smooth operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend Production Meetings: Participate in daily production meetings Monday–Thursday (8:30 AM – 9:00 AM) to stay informed on schedules and priorities.
  • Review Backorder & Overflow Reports: Analyze reports and add items to existing loads where possible to optimize shipments.
  • Monitor Dealer Schedules: Manage and review schedules for smaller accounts to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Communicate Effectively: Coordinate with production teams and customers to confirm shipping schedules and resolve any issues.
  • Cover for Team Lead on Furniture: Provide support and coverage for the Team Lead on furniture logistics when needed.
  • Update Estimated Completion Dates: Maintain accurate and up-to-date completion timelines in the system.
  • Cross-Train on Distribution Center Logistics: Learn distribution center logistics processes to assist with coverage during PTO or peak times.

Requirements

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills.
