Job Description

Job Description Summary

The Extension Intern works with County Extension Agents to coordinate and implement program events and activities. Activities are designed to provide insight to career opportunities in a particular field or specialty; including agriculture/natural resources, family and community health, youth development, and community development.
 

Responsibilities

  • Participates in regular conferences and meetings where program results and plans are discussed.

  • Assists in preparations for planned events and activities. May also conduct teaching, training, or other program presentations.  

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a course of study relevant to the mission of Extension.  

  • Completion of at least 15 college credit hours.  

  • No specific experience is required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Prior experience with Extension related activities.

  • Work experience with volunteer organizations.  

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skills in basic office applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Evidence of strong communications skills.

  • Good organizational and planning skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual skill (English/Spanish) is desirable.  

Other Qualifications:

  • Must have access to reliable transportation in order to be able to travel for assignments.

  • This position is for the duration of the Summer Session.

Salary:

  • $13.00/hour
