In this role, you will:

The work will consist of various project related assignments to the design and operation of the gas system, such as:

  • Design of natural gas facilities and pipelines including stress analysis and equipment sizing and selection;
  • Engage various internal and external stakeholders and team members in completion of capital projects;
  • Perform engineering assessments, identify opportunities and deficiencies, and complete written reports/proposals for existing and proposed infrastructure;
  • Research and develop design standards; and
  • Recommend process improvements and ensure compliance to company and industry codes and standards.

What it takes:

  • Engineering Student - Third or Fourth year preferred
  • Valid BC driver’s license (or other provincial equivalent)
  • Experience or knowledge with CAD applications and competence in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with report and memo writing in a corporate environment
  • Experience with interpreting mechanical and P&ID drawings of piping systems
  • Competent public speaker

Additional Information

  • This is an 8 month co-op term starting in May 2026.
  • The assignment will provide opportunities for engagement with engineers, managers and others in different departments in the organization, and provide an understanding of some of the workings within the operating and engineering groups at FortisBC.
