We have an exciting opportunity for a 12-month Aerodynamics Graduate Industrial Placement student to join The Cadillac Formula 1™ Team at our state-of-the-art facility in Silverstone. As part of the Aerodynamics Department, you will work closely with Aerodynamicists, CFD Engineers, and Model Technicians to support the development, testing, and validation of aerodynamic concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support wind tunnel testing activities, including test planning, model preparation, configuration control, and data acquisition
  • Produce clear reports and visuals to communicate test results and development progress
  • Track and report key aerodynamic performance metrics to support departmental decision-making
  • Undertake in depth data analysis projects to help the department better identify areas for potential performance improvement. This may be operational performance, system performance or aerodynamic performance
  • Contribute to the development of processes and automated tools for analysing and visualising data from CFD, wind tunnel, and track testing
  • Assist with CFD post-processing and contribute to aerodynamic performance analysis
  • Take ownership of defined tasks within the aerodynamic development cycle, with guidance from senior team members

What do you need to bring to the team?

  • Currently studying for an MEng degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Aerodynamic Engineering (ideally having completed Year 3 of 4)
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, and CFD fundamentals
  • Experience using CFD tools such as STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or ANSYS Fluent
  • Working knowledge of Python for data processing or automation
  • Basic proficiency with CAD software (e.g. CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks)
  • Proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for motorsport and innovation
